FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

The platform, the questions, and the membership — answered. Anything else, email support@incisemd.com.

The platform
How are the questions created? +

Questions are built from authoritative medical literature in plastic surgery and refined through a rigorous multi-stage clinical validation pipeline: literature audit against PubMed and clinical guidelines, blinded answer verification, language quality analysis, composite scoring across 12 accuracy dimensions, and automated revision of any flagged content. Every question ships with references, and the full pipeline runs before a question ever reaches you.

Is Incise aligned to the American Board of Plastic Surgery exam and the Plastic Surgery In-Service Exam? +

Yes. Every question is tagged to the American Board of Plastic Surgery Written Examination content outline and covers topics tested on the Plastic Surgery In-Service Training Examination. Questions are reviewed and updated on an ongoing basis as guidelines evolve.

What is Brain Trace? +

Brain Trace is our adaptive learning engine, live now in alpha. It builds a knowledge graph of plastic surgery concepts, measures your mastery of each — starting with a diagnostic exam — and routes your study sessions through adaptive questions, open-response self-evaluation, flashcards, and rapid review, with spaced repetition to protect what you've already learned. It's included with every membership.

Billing & membership
How much does Incise cost? +

$39 per month, or $199 per year — a 57% saving. One membership unlocks everything: the full question bank, Brain Trace, analytics, and exam simulations. Payments are handled securely by Stripe, and you can cancel anytime.

How does the free trial work? +

Every new membership starts with a 7-day free trial. You add a card at checkout but aren't charged until the trial ends — cancel before then and you pay nothing. Trials are limited to one per account.

What if Incise isn't for me? +

Every membership is backed by a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. If Incise isn't working for you within your first 30 days of paid membership, reach out through the in-app Support button and we'll refund you in full.

I signed up during the alpha — do I have to pay? +

No. Accounts created during the alpha keep full free access as a thank-you for the early feedback that shaped Incise. Pricing applies to new accounts only.

Does my program qualify for institutional pricing? +

Any ACGME-accredited plastic surgery residency program qualifies. Email us at support@incisemd.com with your program name and resident count.

Can I share my account with co-residents? +

Accounts are individual — the adaptive engine needs to track your specific performance to be useful. For group access, ask your program director about institutional pricing.
